Inside my make up bag!

Hello lovelies, I haven't posted in so long, sorry! I just never have a clue what to write, but after someone on my instagram asking my to post whats in my make up bag, that sounded like a good idea and as I am off school ill at the moment suffering with problems with my asthma, I have a lot of time on my hands! The quality of these photos aren't the best as my camera decided not to work for me and due to good old English weather, it's dark and rainy again so no natural light! Anyways, here goes..

I wanted to take a photo of all of the products in my makeup bag all together in one picture as well as individual pictures but they didn't fit (this is a hint to myself that I need to throw some things away)..

The first lot of products are my skin products! From left to right: Garnier eye roll on, The Body Shop tea tree oil mattyfing moisturiser, The Body Shop tea tree oil blemish stick, Clean and Clear advantage spot treatment gel. I really think all of these products are such good quality! The eye roll on genuinely does wake up your eyes and makes them look more awake and not like you've just rolled out of bed! The moisturiser is the only one I have used that hasn't made my skin even more oily than it is and the spot treatments both work, which is a godsend when you have skin as awful as mine!

Second, here are my primers! Benefit's triple performing face emulsion, Benefit's 'the Porefessional' (which I have somehow lost the lid of, woops!) and Micabella cosmetics photo finish primer. I suffer really badly from large visible pores and I swear by the porefessional! It is such a good quality primer and unlike a lot of primers, it is actually skin toned! I use the Micabella primer more when going out as it is a lot more defined and the two Benefit products for everyday use.

Third, here are my foundations! Rimmel's BB cream, Mac studio fix fluid, The Body Shop's own brand foundation, Benefit hello flawless and Mac studio sculpt! The BB cream gives such good light coverage, I have never used another brand's BB cream so I have nothing to compare it to, but Rimmel's is so good I don't need to try another! I tend to wear it for school or when I'm not doing a lot, as it isn't as heavy as a foundation. Mac's studio fix fluid and The Body Shop's own brand formula are both so good for every day use, they both provide good long lasting coverage and the colour match is brilliant! Benefit's hello flawless foundation, the coverage is quite good.. while it lasts! It doesn't seem to stay on my skin and my mum had the same problem, I don't think it was worth the money and I won't be buying again! Mac's studio sculpt is good for very heavy coverage, its thick to put on and lasts a long while!

Now onto powders and concealers! Powders: Natural Collection translucent loose powder, Mac mineralize skinfinish natural. Concealers: Laura Mercier secret concealer (the little brown pot), Rimmel stay matte dual action concealer and Benefit lyin' eyes. I have used the Natural Collection translucent powder for about a year now and although it is ridiculously cheap, I have never had any problems and it has been one of the best powders I have tried! Recently, I bought the Mac mineralize skinfinish natural after hearing lots of good reviews! I have to say, although the difference in price is about £20, the difference in the product isn't that much, I'd say the Mac is slightly better quality though. Laura Mercier's concealer is absolutely brilliant, it is quite pricey I have to admit but I haven't bought a new one in over 18 months and half the pot still remains! Benefit lyin' eyes is the best under eye concealer I have ever used, I previously used YSL's Touche Eclat and that doesn't come close to Benefit! The stay matte concealer by Rimmel is good to cover spots as it has a core that treats the spots themselves!

Now onto my blushes, I have quite a few! From left to right, starting top, then to bottom. The Body Shop in shade 02, Models Own in 'Warm Glow', Topshop in 'Walnut', Bourjois (the shade rubbed off, apologies!) and Maxfactor cream blush in soft pink! I'd say all of these blushes are absolutely amazing! On a day to day basis I usually use either the Models Own, Maxfactor or Topshop as the other two are more noticeable for night time wear! The Body Shop goes on quite dark but as long as you have a good blush brush to blend it with, it blends well, the same goes for the Maxfactor cream blush.

Highlighters! Soap and Glory Long Distance Shimmer, Me Me Me Beat the Blues and FCUK enhancer. The soap and glory one I use on my cupids bow and my brow bones daily, it is such a good highlighter and naturally highlights rather than being too overwhelming. I also use the Me Me Me highlighter on my cheekbones, it makes your cheekbones seem very defined without being over the top. The French Connection enhancer is very good for night time wear, in the day time I feel it looks quite over the top and heavy but if worn correctly at night time, it is a good highlighter for both brow and cheek bones, as well as cupid's bow.

Lipcare! I cannot put on a liptick without moisturising my lips first and these are just a few of my thousands of lip balms (I used to collect them when I was younger, don't ask..). Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm, Vaseline Pink Bubbly, Soap and Glory 'A Great Kisser' and Nivea Milk & Honey. I absolutely adore the Burt's Bees lipbalm, it tastes minty and makes your lips tingly and keeps them soft and smooth! Good old Vaseline is always a winner and the limited edition Pink Bubbly tastes absolutely divine! A Great Kisser gives a nice soft pink colour but it is quite sticky and you cannot wear under lipstick, but worn on its own gives a natural look! Nivea's milk and honey is my favourite lip balm, it tastes lovely, leaves my lips feeling amazing and lipstick goes perfectly over it!

Ignore the shadow at the top of the picture woops my photography skills are slacking! But Lip colours; Mac in 'Hang Up', Benefit in 'Espionage', Topshop in 'Beguiled', Lush Lip Tint in 'A Million Kisses' and good old Lipcote! I know pretty much all three lip colours are the same but I don't like change okay! The Mac is slightly darker than the rest and it lasts well and goes on neater than all the others and is my favourite! The Benefit is slightly lighter than the Mac but still is amazing quality. The Topshop, although is the same colour as the benefit, is shimmery, it also bleeds quite a lot if you don't wear lip liner, this makes it better for night time wear. A Million Kisses is a lovely warm, summery red and I'm excited to start wearing it more often now the weather is getting warmer! Although it is messy and does smudge, the colour lasts all day! Lipcote is fab, I often find that lipsticks get everywhere because they don't really dry but Lipcote stops this, I adore it!

Now onto the eyes oooh how interesting! These are the liners I use; Rimmel Glam Eyes, Rimmel Exaggerate Liner, Soap and Glory Supercat, Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour felt tip and Maybelline Eye Studio Gel. I tend to use the two Rimmel liners when I want just a thin line with no flicks (for school etc) as I find it harder to do flicks with those and I have an OCD with my flicks being completely symmetrical! The two felt tip pens are absolutely amazing! I have tried so many different of the pens and they have always come out grey rather than black and dried up almost instantly, these are amazing and are both amazing value for money! I use the gel liner when going out in the evening, it is very dramatic and it lasts so well, the only thing I would say is that it prints against the top of my eyelid, but you can't see this when your eye is open.

Mascara! Maybelline 'The Falsies Volum' Express', Maybelline 'The Collosal Volum' Express', Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Black and the most adorable mini Bad Gal Lash by Benefit! I adore all of these mascaras, all of them apart from the first are perfect for day time wear as they are not too over the top and give naturally uplifted, darkened lashes without clumps! The Falsies by Maybelline is more appropriate for night time wear as it is more extreme and does give the false lash look! Bad Gal Lash is absolutely amazing and today I ordered a brown one because I love it so much!

I rarely use any other eye products other than eyeliner but here are a few others! Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow, Mac eyeshadow in 'Typographic', Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion and Urban Decay's Naked Palette with an adorable mini Primer Potion! Benefit's cream shadow is perfect for daytime wear and the colour lasts, this is the third one I've tried and I'll keep going back for more! Mac's eyeshadow is quite dark so I normally wear it in the evenings, it goes on well and lasts, it doesn't smudge either! Urban Decay's primer potion is amazing worn with eyeshadow to make it last longer and giving it a smooth base or on its own to give a natural shimmer to eyelids, I adore it and it seems to be everlasting! I have only recently purchased the Naked Palette, I have the Naked 2 Palette though and after falling in love with that, I thought I'd try the first. I. Am. In. Love! There are so many colours in their from matte to shiny, light to dark that you will always find the perfect shade whatever the occasion, it is quite pricey but I can't think of another product that is more worth the money!

Last but not least, brushes woo! Left to right; Elf Cosmetics eyeshadow brush, Smashbox eyeliner brush, Mac concealer brush, Mac lip brush, Topshop Blush brush, The Body Shop face and body brush, The Body Shop foundation brush, another Elf Cosmetics eyeshadow brushes (thicker bristles) and The Body Shop eyelash curler! All of the brushes are very long lasting, good for their jobs and easy to clean! The first Elf Cosmetics eyeshadow brush (white) is more appropriate for daytime eyeshadow as it applies lightly and the other Elf applies more heavily, for night time wear! The Body Shop's foundation brush is the only one I have found that doesn't leave brush marks and although I don't use it often, it is a godsend when I do! The Body Shop eyelash curler I also don't use very often because if I'm honest I find them a bit scary! But when going out to parties etc I get brave and use it and it does work!

You've finally got to the end! For such a simple title it was a hell of a long post, sorry if I bored you to tears, I hope at least one person enjoyed it though! Thank you for reading x x x

Today's Cheeky Buys!

Today, I was weak and I gave up one of my new years resolutions. To save. I cracked open my savings jar and hit Westfield and I tried to hold back, but ended up spending pretty much all of my money on various bits and pieces. I only went to try and find this top that I am in love with from Topshop, and the website said it was in stock in the Westfield store, but as usual, it wasn't so I ended up coming away without it. Being a common size 10 is a pain! I am now pretty much completely broke, but I am happy with the things I bought! I thought I'd share with you what I got and at least try and be interesting, so here you go!

This was the top I wanted from Topshop, isn't it beautiful?
And it's only £18 which for Topshop, is a complete bargain!

For a while, I'd been looking for a MAC lipstick in the shade 'Hang Up' but whenever I've looked online or looked in store, it has always been out of stock, the same happened today. However, Benefit also sell a similar colour and for the same price (£14), and thankfully there is a Benefit stall in Boots! I decided to give up on trying to get hold of 'Hang Up' for a while, and just make do with 'Espionage', the Benefit equivalent. Whenever I have tried Benefit make-up before it has always been reasonably good quality, however I have never had a lipstick before, so here's hoping this is good!

I also bought a brush cleanser from MAC, I have always used baby shampoo to clean my make-up brushes in the past but I have found this makes the bristles quite dry and prone to falling out. Also, they take a while to dry and I have no brushes to apply my make up with the next day. I have heard good things about the MAC brush cleanser for quite a while and it is supposed to shorten drying time for brushes and keep the moisture in, and for only £9.50, it was a bargain so I decided to give it a go.

I also wanted a mini Soap and Glory 'Hand Food' hand cream to go in my handbag as I had run out, and when I went into Boots, Soap and Glory products were 3 for 2! I am one of those people where if there is a deal or a sale, I actually cannot say no, so I didn't... I ended up buying a mini 'Hand Maid' anti-bacterial gel and a mini 'Flake Away' body scrub and it all only came to £5!

Finally, I bought the cutest wolf socks from Topshop! Unfortunately they aren't for me though, they're a gift, but they are just so adorable I think I will have to go and get myself a pair!

Well there you go, there are my main purchases from today! I'm only new to this blogging thing, so apologies if my posts aren't very exciting, but if there are any requests of what you'd like me to post, just comment or tell me on Instagram! Thanks for reading.

First Post!

So this is my first blog post. Um I don't really have an idea about what to post but I figured my first post should be a bit about myself so here goes I guess. :-)

I'm Megan and I am just a normal 15 year old girl from London, nothing really interesting. I am fond of music, going to gigs, reading, lay ins and shopping. My weekdays are spent trying to survive gcses surrounded by 1600 morons. I usually spend my weekends spending my money on pointless things and clothes and then moaning that I'm broke. I am completely in love with Emma Watson and a confessed Cath Kidston, Topshop, Instagram and 'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower' addict.

I live with my parents and my two pet lizards, which I geniusly named Gavin and Stacey, despite the fact that Gavin is female...

Other than the uninteresting ramblings of my boring life, this blog will probably consist of reviews on make up, clothes, beauty products etc as well as confessions of a shopaholic and hauls.

That's pretty much all I have to say, I'll try and post more riveting things next time!

My Instagram is @meg___an (but this often changes)
My tumblr is cl0ckwork-heart
